Welcome Message from the Chair
Welcome to the Asia-Pacific Qualitative Health Research Network (AQUHN)!
It is both an honour and a privilege to introduce AQUHN established in 2022 – a dynamic, forward-thinking community at the forefront of qualitative health research in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
As Chair, I am inspired every day by the passion, curiosity, and unwavering commitment of our members to improving health and well-being throughout our diverse region.
At AQUHN, our vision extends beyond collaboration; we are building a movement. By connecting leading scholars, innovative practitioners, and rising talents, we ignite new ideas, challenge conventional boundaries, and champion the transformative power of qualitative inquiry.

Through dynamic exchange of knowledge, pioneering methodological breakthroughs, and a steadfast focus on real-world impact, AQUHN empowers its members to address the region’s most pressing health issues. We believe qualitative research is not just a tool, but a catalyst for equity, empathy, and positive transformation.
I invite you to join us – explore our initiatives, engage in our vibrant events, and collaborate with a network of like-minded visionaries. Welcome Message from the Co-Chair
Greetings from AQUHN!
I am pleased to welcome you to the Asia-Pacific Qualitative Health Research Network (AQUHN)—a dynamic community united by a shared dedication to qualitative health research and collaboration.
It is an honour to greet you as a representative of the Chairing University and Co-Chair of AQUHN, especially as the School of Nursing at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) serves as the Chairing University for 2025 and 2026.
AQUHN is built on the belief that understanding people’s lived experiences and the specific contexts in which they occur is vital for addressing the complex health challenges facing our region. In partnership with HKU, we are committed to offering professional development, mentorship, and opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange. Through workshops, seminars, and collaborative projects, we support both experienced researchers and newcomers to qualitative methods, encouraging growth and innovation at every career stage.
Whether you are here to learn, share, or lead, your participation strengthens the AQUHN community. Together, we can advance the quality and impact of health research for the benefit of individuals and societies across the Asia-Pacific region.
Best wishes,
Hye Ri Choi, RN, PhD
